A few months back, i wasn't really into lipsticks, and more of a tint or colored lip balm girl. But after catering for lot of orders of different kinds of lipsticks. I've become exposed to a whole new world of prettiness! From pretty packaging, to neon colors, to patterned boxes and different signature scents!
But despite all the glamorous tubes and vivid colors these lipsticks have, i find myself reaching for something else. Something i find myself comfortable with. Like killer high heels vs comfortable flats. On those days, where you're too lazy to pick what lipstick shade you want to use, subconsciously your hand picks up the same lipsticks over and over again.
These are the 2 lipsticks that I mostly use and abuse for the past months.
And now, i feel they deserve an Appreciation Post.
Because they were always there for me when i needed a friend on my undecided days, and because they are so flexible matching my every eye makeup and every outfit i choose to wear.

My Staple Drugstore Lippie: NYX Matte Lipstick in Whipped Caviar
Im not really a fan of NYX lipstick's packaging. Feels cheap plastic and just too light, but hey, they're like $6 (around P270). Not complaining, just saying.
But mind you, i love the formulation of this NYX Matte, it's matte but doesn't suck out all the moisture in my lips. Even after wearing it for 6hours or more! I just have to apply lip balm first, pre-application. A safety precaution you MUST do, specially if you will be wearing a matte lipstick.
This shade is like mauve-y pink brown? Sorry i'm not good in describing colors.
But somehow, this really, really, looks nice and natural on me. Just like my natural lip color but better!
I can almost wear this with any outfit in any color! I can even sport this out on a formal event.

My Staple Highend Lippie: MAC Kinda Sexy (Matte)
Not really surprising, cause i've been raving about this in IG and even recommending this to my clients and friends.
After getting very disappointed with MAC Please Me, because unlike all the other girls who talks about how pretty MAC Please Me is on them and how natural it looks, and so on~. It just don't work for me, im not sure if it's my complexion, or i just don't like it on me. But it somewhat makes me look pale, anemic-looking, close-to-zombie mode or i'm-dying-of-cancer type of look, you get the picture!
So i decided to go on the other side of nudes, the orange-y side. And i discovered Kinda Sexy!
It's called Kinda Sexy cause it's a nude color, but nude is sexy right? Kinda? Now you know!
(Sorry, i just invented that.)
What's nice about this lippie is i think it's not too orange-y, but there's more brown in it. It really emphasizes my lips just to the point that you see it and it's overall nice, blends well with your complexion but some how gives life to your face. Not a distracting color at all.
What i HATE about MAC Mattes on the other side is the formulation! It is so drying even if you put on lip balm on your lips before applying! No precaution can prevent it! It dries out your lips, sucks out all its moisture and leave you with cracked and chapped lips all over.
Fortunately, i made it work on me with the power of my Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker Lip Plumping Gloss in Candy Gloss which is almost a transparent color. (I also love the name of the lip gloss!)
I don't really care it it's not matte any more, as long as it doesn't wither my lips. Plus, you can spread out the color evenly easier when you use a gloss with it. You know how hard it is to get an even coat of matte lipstick, specially on the sides of your lips.
So yeah, using a gloss can make my life easier and now i can live with MAC Mattes without raped lips.

As the tips shows, i love NYX Matte Whipped Caviar just a little more than i love my MAC Kinda Sexy. The tips says it all.
Not because of the color, believe me i wanted to wear MAC Kinda Sexy more, but the formulation is just too drying. So i go for the NYX cause it's such a good girl.
You can wear these shades everyday for OFFICE & SCHOOL.
So far, these two are the lippies i wear the MOST!
